Build ease with the visual arts through Alveary's Charlotte Mason art curriculum spanning eight skill-based levels. All courses contain a full year of lessons scheduled twice a week. Early levels (1–3) establish foundational skills in observational drawing, silhouettes, soft pastels, watercolor, and color theory. Middle levels (4–6) introduce perspective, landscape and figure drawing, charcoal, tessellations, advanced watercolor techniques, and deeper color theory. Upper levels (7–8) add graphite, composition, tonal value, pointillism, portraiture, and painting light in watercolor. Students new to art in Grades 5–8 begin with the Fast Track — an accelerated course through Levels 1–3 before continuing with Level 4. High schoolers new to art or to Alveary begin with the High School Fast Track, completing all eight levels in a fast-paced sequence. No prior art experience required to begin at Level 1 or either Fast Track. Each course contains clear instructions and instructional videos, and this course pairs naturally with Picture Study lessons as students practice skills learned through art lessons to better observe and study paintings throughout history.
