Alveary in the Classroom

Using Alveary in Groups

We are delighted to offer a way for teachers and parents to use Charlotte Mason’s Alveary in co-ops, individual classes, schools, micro schools, tutorials, or other group settings. Have a question that's not answered below, contact us!

Co-op Use of Alveary

Option 1: Use Alveary materials in ANY co-op setting.

  • Your organization is a non-tuition-based organization serving families who are sharing the teaching role, as allowed by state law. Teachers are not paid; students are not charged tuition AND
  • You, the teacher, either have an Alveary membership or have purchased from the Alveary Store the individual course(s) that you plan to teach. Families or students may not receive copies of the curriculum. Any additional Alveary resources needed (i.e., lab books, art prints, etc.) should be purchased for each student.

Option 2. Become an "ALVEARY CO-OP"
You are invited to become an Alveary Co-op and receive a discounted membership ($249) if your organization meets the requirements below.

    Alveary Co-op Requirements
    • Your organization is a non-tuition-based organization serving families who are sharing the teaching role, as allowed by state law. Teachers are not paid; students are not charged tuition.
    • Co-ops must meet at least once per month and conduct classes in a minimum of THREE Alveary subjects.
    • Co-op leaders must apply annually for Alveary Co-op status.
    • To obtain the co-op DISCOUNT, leaders must list on their application a minimum of THREE families.
    • The application must be approved prior to the co-op families’ registering for membership.

    Licensed Group Use of Alveary

Do you want to teach class(es) using Alveary lesson plans where students pay tuition and you, as the teacher, are compensated directly or indirectly? This policy applies both to individuals offering classes and to organizations that would like to license their teacher(s) to teach Alveary subjects. (See the policy below for becoming an “Alveary School.”)

    • Option 1: Purchase an Alveary membership or purchase individual courses in the Alveary Store for yourself or your school. Pay per-subject licensing fees for each student.*
    • Option 2: Purchase an Alveary membership yourself and require every family involved to purchase one, as well. Teach as many subjects as you like.
    Licensed Use Requirements
    • Fees must be paid before any Alveary materials are used with your students.
    *Option 1 Fees
    • If opting to pay per-subject licensing fees, you will pay $25 per student (1-25 students) for each subject you teach. For example, if a student is taking both a Literature and an Art class, you will need two licenses. If you add a student to your class, you'll need to pay an additional fee for that student. Contact us for discounted rates if seeking to use Alveary lessons in a larger group or another unspecified setting.
    • Classes of students including both Alveary and  non-Alveary students incur fees only for non-Alveary students.
