Alveary Foundations - Alveary Foundations Updates
This week we are excited to share more updates with you that have been made throughout our Foundations course. This set of updates touches some of the most foundational sections of both Relational Ideas and Relational Methods.
What you'll find inside:
- Poetry (Literature): A new Poetry section has been added to the Literature unit, covering daily poetry reading for all ages and historical poetry for Grades 5 and up. Two new videos have been added that cover the role of poetry in our students' lives and our own, and on how to make poetry a regular part of life.
- 20 Principles of Charlotte Mason: A brand new section walking through each of Mason's 20 principles, with a video for each one. A written summary of each principle is included before the video so you know what to expect before you watch.
- Role of the Teacher: Two substantial new videos have been added. They touch on how your role as teacher changes throughout the years, and give a broad overview of the educator's role and what we can do to help students learn.
- The Implementation of Lessons: This section has also been reorganized with new videos on relations with knowledge, flexibility in lessons, and what to do when the method does not seem to be working.
- Bible: The Bible section has been significantly reorganized and expanded with several new videos, now carefully ordered to build understanding from the ground up. New additions include videos on the knowledge of God, an overview of Bible lessons, and the role of the Holy Spirit in reading Scripture. There is also a video about the spiritual nature of the child, which you can check out below:

In Mason's Own Words:
"Poetry takes first rank as a means of intellectual culture."
