Science Books

Query: Can you explain the book replacements in Form 2 science this year?  I thought the science program was pretty much set.  Can I still use the books I used with my older student, or should I get the new books? How do I make this decision?

This is a great question! While we loved the books in the science program, some of them, unfortunately, are now out of print. Therefore, we had to replace them to ensure that all members would be able to obtain books for their lessons. The good news is that this year's titles are wonderful, as well, and the scope and sequence for the science program is exactly the same, so you can use either the books you already have or those currently scheduled with the associated lessons and not miss a beat. One thing to note with some of the new books is that they are a bit shorter. That means that we had a lot more room to bring additional interaction and support into the lesson plans. So, if your student would benefit from the enhanced interactions during the lesson time, then you'll want to choose the shorter text. If you were happy with the legacy lesson plans and love the books you already have, then you should feel free to stick with them without hesitation.
